Mother of first surviving set of septuplets credits Melaleuca supplements for the health of her babies.
A little more than 18 years ago, Bobbi McCaughey awaited the birth of her babies. Seven of them, to be exact. Contrary to prevailing medical advice, Bobbi and her husband Kenny relied on their faith and opted to not terminate any of the fetuses. Choosing this path meant she needed to get the very best nutrition possible if she had any chance of successful childbirth. With the help of a dear friend, she turned to Melaleuca.
“Our friends Bob and Genni Brown had been longtime users of Melaleuca products. And Genni, especially, just swore by the Vitality Pack® because of her experience with it,” Bobbi says.
Some days, it was all she could do just to get her Melaleuca multivitamin-mineral down. But she did. For her babies.
As babies develop during a pregnancy, they are totally dependent on their mother for the nutrition they need to grow and prosper. For Bobbi, the importance of getting the right nutrition was multiplied by seven. Each little body relied on her to provide it with the nourishment it needed to form into a healthy child. A problem complicated by the fact that some days, Bobbi could hardly keep anything down…except her Vitality for Life® supplements.
Before the McCaugheys, no single woman had ever successfully supported the nutritional needs of herself and seven fetuses. On November 19, 1997, Bobbi gave birth to the first set of septuplets in history to survive infancy.
Bobbi’s doctors attributed this amazing, first-ever accomplishment, to the nutrition Bobbi provided her babies by taking Melaleuca’s Vitality Pack.
“I think the most amazing part of it was not so much that we carried them to 30 weeks and that they were all doing well,” Bobbi says. “All of our kids were in the normal range for birth weight for their gestation, which they shouldn’t have been according to the doctors. There’s at least a couple of reasons why they were so healthy. Number one, I know that God caused it to be that way. And, number two, I knew that it had to be in part because I used the Vitality Pack through the majority of the pregnancy. And so I didn’t have to worry that I couldn’t eat enough during the day. I knew that I was still getting the vitamins and minerals I needed and, most importantly, that the babies needed. And to be able to get all the way through the pregnancy with almost zero complications, have a birth with zero complications, and have hardly any complications after birth with the kids, was just a miracle.”
Not only did they survive, this Melaleuca family continues to thrive. Over the years, they have kept their home clean with EcoSense® products, washed their clothes with MelaPower®, snacked on Simply Fit™ Popcorn and Bars, enjoyed Melaleuca Bath & Body products, used their fair share of MelaGel® on scraped knees, and, of course, continued to take Melaleuca nutritional supplements. And now that they’re all grown up, they take the Peak Performance Pack®.
On May 22, 2016, all seven of the kids walked the stage and graduated from Carlisle High School in their hometown of Carlisle, Iowa. From here, the future for these seven siblings is filled with possibilities.
According to Bobbi, Kenny Jr. was always on the go as a child. Today, he’s looking forward to a career in construction.
