Enhancing Lives for 40 Years
“We not only have the best wellness products in the world, we also have the absolute best way for average people who were not born into wealth to get ahead in life!”
—Executive Chairman Frank VanderSloot
Read Melaleuca Founder Frank VanderSloot’s thoughts on reaching our 40-year anniversary!
On September 1, 1985, Melaleuca opened its doors with a bold idea and a simple mission—to enhance the lives of those we touch by helping people reach their goals. That statement wasn’t written to be a catchy slogan or a short-term strategy, but a promise. A promise to deliver wellness like never before.
Four decades later, that promise has not only held firm but has also multiplied. Melaleuca has grown from a small start-up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with eight products and a handful of employees into a multibillion-dollar wellness company serving households around the world. Though the scale has changed, the heartbeat hasn’t.
Melaleuca’s 40th anniversary is more than just a celebration of time; it’s a reflection of lives changed and genuine excitement for the future. Our success isn’t measured in revenue or products sold. It’s measured in families protected from harsh chemicals. In plastic kept out of landfills and oceans. Through Melaleuca, families around the world have enjoyed greater wellness, gained more financial freedom, and discovered a sense of purpose in sharing Melaleuca’s mission with those they love.
“Seeing the difference that Melaleuca’s products and income make in people’s lives is what drives me,” says Executive Director 3 Amy Varley. “I love helping others achieve their goals and create better lives for themselves and their families.”

Real Stories. Real Impact.
Over the years, Marketing Executives and customers have told us how Melaleuca has changed their lives. As we celebrate 40 years, their stories speak louder than any statistic, offering proof that enhancing lives is deep inside Melaleuca’s DNA.
Discovering Purpose Through Melaleuca

As an IT professional, Executive Director 4 Jonathan Montgomery was successful and provided well for his family, but something was missing. “One of my biggest fears has always been looking back and wondering if my life mattered,” Jonathan says. “I don’t worry about that anymore. With Melaleuca, I get to contribute and make a difference.”
When he began building a Melaleuca business, Jonathan found more than just a path to repeat income—he found purpose.
That purpose came to life in a powerful way in September 2024 when Hurricane Helene struck his community. Knowing Jonathan and his wife, Kimberly’s, heart for service, the Melaleuca Foundation partnered with the couple to help serve others in the aftermath.
“To help our community, the Melaleuca Foundation sent us more than $40,000 worth of Melaleuca personal care products, a thousand Riverbend Ranch® hamburger patties, and a thousand Riverbend Ranch hot dogs,” Jonathan recalls. “We grilled food, loaded it into our church vans, and drove through the community, giving away food away so people didn’t have to wait in food lines for hours and risk running out of gas."
For Jonathan, it was one more reminder that his work-and his life-have lasting meaning.
The Septuplets That Survived

In 1997, Bobbi McCaughey was on the brink of making history. She and her husband, Kenny, were expecting septuplets. Against medical advice, they chose not to terminate any of the fetuses, relying instead on their faith and a fierce determination to give all seven babies a fighting chance. That decision made proper nutrition a top priority.
With encouragement from friends Bob and Genni Brown—longtime Melaleuca customers—Bobbi turned to Melaleuca’s Vitality Pack® multivitamin and mineral supplements.
Some days, eating was difficult. But Bobbi never skipped her Melaleuca supplements. “I knew that I was still getting the vitamins and minerals I needed and, most importantly, that the babies needed.”
Her pregnancy progressed with minimal complications. And on November 19, 1997, Bobbi gave birth to the world’s first surviving set of septuplets—with zero complications.
“I think the most amazing part of it was not so much that I carried them to 30 weeks, but that all of our kids were in the normal range for birth weight for their gestation, which they shouldn’t have been according to their doctors. I knew that it had to be in part because I used the Vitality Pack.”

“For 40 years, Melaleuca has been a way for anyone to come in and change their life,” National Director 7 Morgan Martin says. “What’s so special about Melaleuca is that the opportunity is the same now as it was then. Anyone who starts building a Melaleuca business today has the same ability to create lifelong repeat income as those who started years ago.”

A Steady Past, a Soaring Future
When Melaleuca began in 1985, the idea of a direct-to-consumer wellness company built on loyalty shopping was revolutionary. Today, it’s more relevant than ever.
At a time of profound uncertainty, people are looking for products—and opportunities—they can count on. Melaleuca offers both. That’s why this 40-year milestone is just the beginning. With more than 400 wellness products, cutting-edge innovations, a powerful infrastructure, and a timeless mission to help others, Melaleuca is poised to reach even more households in the years to come.
“Melaleuca has spent 40 years building a rock-solid foundation,” Melaleuca CEO Jerry Felton says. “But what excites me most is where we’re going next. We’ve never been better positioned to enhance more lives than we are right now.”
With every new generation of leaders, the mission is being renewed. Young parents. Health-conscious consumers. Families looking for something better for their bodies, their homes, and their futures are finding it here.
"Melaleuca offers a lifetime of health benefits. My husband is 88 years old and rides 20 miles a day on his bike. I’m active at the gym, and I do yoga, paddleboarding, and skiing. We both take the Peak Performance Total Health Pack, and we’ve been using Melaleuca’s multivitamins for 34 years. Even though we’re in our 80s, neither of us is on prescription drugs. We just feel so good, and that’s why we have a responsibility to tell our friends about Melaleuca.”
—Executive Director 5 Peggy Callaway
We're Just Getting Started
From its humble roots, Melaleuca has grown into a global force with products that have helped over a million customers the world over. Today, the ability to make a difference with Melaleuca is more profound than ever. But one thing has never changed—our promise to help those who work hard to have a great life. And at the heart of that promise are the stories that remind us of what true success looks like:
- The mom who no longer worries about what’s under her kitchen sink.
 - The friend who got her energy back and started thinking big again.
 - The retiree who found purpose in helping others. The customer who felt seen, heard, and helped.

These are the moments that matter. These are the stories that define Melaleuca’s 40-year journey. And experiences like these are what will shape our future. Because for all that’s been achieved over the last four decades, the most important work is still to come.
