No matter where in the world Melaleuca is, the Mission Statement is alive and well: “To enhance the lives of those we touch by helping people reach their goals.”
The strength in this mission lies in the fact that it is about helping others. “Many don’t realize that the magic of success is in helping others reach their goals, not in trying to reach their own goals,” said Melaleuca Executive Chairman Frank VanderSloot.
When Frank VanderSloot founded Melaleuca in 1985, he created the Melaleuca Mission Statement to guide everything the company would do. Melaleuca has evolved and changed much since then, but the company’s mission to enhance lives has remained unchanged and has only become stronger over time. We know that true success, fulfilment, and happiness can only come when we put the needs of others before our own needs.
There are many great companies that do a lot of good. But unfortunately, too many companies don’t have a powerful and engaging mission statement that permeates their culture, and many employees don’t know what their company’s mission and values even are. A 2019 Gallup survey showed that only 27% of employees “strongly believe in their company’s values”!
A Different Kind of Company
Melaleuca is different. Melaleuca Team Members and Marketing Executives and even our customers know that we are on a mission to enhance lives and live that mission themselves. We aren’t just selling products and making a profit. We aren’t even just trying to help people get healthier and clean their homes. We are helping people enhance their lives, and we’re doing it through superior, safer, healthier products.
